WE HOPE THAT IN YOUR KNOWING ABOUT THE RELATIONSHIP WE HAVE WITH OUR ANIMALS,
YOU WILL TRUST US WITH YOURS.
Our Animal Family
We got our current dog, Barney, from a shelter when he was 9 months old and pledged to him that we would have a rich, active life together and be best pals. We went through 3 levels of dog obedience classes, finished the course work for him to be a therapy dog, went to agility classes and fly-ball classes.
When Barney was two, we rescued our second dog, Ashley.
She was 3 weeks old, had already been put on kibble and her litter-mates had nearly suckled her tail off. She was full of worms and fleas. We nursed her back to health and she is now a happy 10 yr. old. She has grown to be our emotional monitor: knows when we are upset, frustrated or sad almost before we know we are. And we become stronger to settle her. Life isn’t just about us but how we affect those around us. As a family we hike, travel and hang out together whenever possible.
At 15 yrs. old Barney is still pretty active and continues teaching us life lessons in patience, bravery, loyalty and most of all, enthusiasm.
What we have learned most from Rose, the white quarter horse, is respect for differences in how the world is interpreted, subtlety of expression, patience and having the will to forgive and the strength to try again. We hope that in your knowing about our relationship with our animal family, you will trust us with yours.
